BISMARCK, NORTH DAKOTA — Franz Schnabl is Delta Waterfowl’s new regional events director for Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.
Schnabl, 41, has been one of Delta’s top volunteers, serving for the past four years as chairman of the Alcorn County Chapter in Corinth, Mississippi. He was a finalist for Delta Waterfowl’s Volunteer of the Year Award in 2017.
As a regional director, Schnabl will lead Delta’s existing chapters and start new chapters in the southeastern United States. His goal is to conduct successful fundraising events that support Delta’s mission to produce ducks and ensure the future of duck hunting throughout North America.
“I enjoy that people are so passionate about Delta’s programs,” he said. “I’m passionate about the First Hunt program. We need to get new hunters involved because they are the future. I’ll work to get chapters on board and have more of them doing hunter recruitment events.”
A life-long waterfowler who particularly enjoys hunting fields, Schnabl recalled how an uncle sparked his pursuit of ducks and geese by taking him to a marsh when he was 8 years old.
“My first duck was a wigeon, and I was pretty much hooked from then on,” he said.
Schnabl lives in Corinth, Mississippi. He can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or (662) 415-2377.
