DU applauds movement in USFWS Director nomination

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Oct. 23, 2018 – Ducks Unlimited (DU) applauds the movement toward a new United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) director. In a release distributed Monday, President Donald Trump announced his intent to nominate Aurelia Skipwith as the new USFWS director.

DU works closely with federal and state agencies, including USFWS, across North America to put conservation dollars to work. These partnerships are critical for fulfilling DU’s mission to conserve, restore and manage wetlands and associated habitats for North America’s waterfowl. DU’s work also benefits more than 900 other species of wetland-associated wildlife, as well as people and the communities in which they live.

“We are pleased to see movement on the nomination of a director for the USFWS, a critical position for the conservation and management of our nation’s wildlife resources,” said DU CEO Dale Hall. “We hope this nomination moves forward quickly.”

Ducks Unlimited Inc. is the world’s largest nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving North America’s continually disappearing waterfowl habitats. Established in 1937, Ducks Unlimited has conserved more than 14 million acres thanks to contributions from more than a million supporters across the continent. Guided by science and dedicated to program efficiency, DU works toward the vision of wetlands sufficient to fill the skies with waterfowl today, tomorrow and forever.
