81st annual gathering will be held May 30-June 3 at the J.W. Marriott
MEMPHIS, Tennessee – May 23, 2018 – Ducks Unlimited will hold its 2018 national convention May 30-June 3 in Indianapolis, at the J.W. Marriott, 10 S. West Street.
This year’s gathering will include seminars, entertainment, conservation education, demonstrations, field trips, tours and more, including the inaugural Wings Over Wetlands Awards Gala, hosted by conservationist, environmental journalist and television personality Jeff Corwin. The awards celebration is set for Friday night, June 1.
The Friday business session will feature guest speaker Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke and Saturday’s keynote speaker will be Frederick Smith, founder and CEO of FedEx. Bass Pro Shops Founder John Morris will attend to accept an award recognizing Bass Pro Shops for its industry-leading conservation stewardship efforts.
“A lot of preparation and planning goes into our National Convention each year. This year’s convention could not happen without the efforts of Ducks Unlimited’s dedicated volunteers and committees in Indianapolis and across Indiana,” said Dana Barton, DU’s director of national events. “We are looking forward to spending time in Indianapolis with our Ducks Unlimited volunteers, members and supporters.”
Special thanks to our proud partners First National Bank of Omaha, for sponsoring this year’s convention.
“Ducks Unlimited’s National Convention is always like a family reunion,” said Ducks Unlimited CEO Dale Hall. “Our annual event is a celebration. We will get together and celebrate 81 years of Ducks Unlimited conservation successes and plan for the future of wetlands conservation. Indianapolis is a great place for us to gather and work toward DU’s vision of wetlands sufficient to fill the skies with waterfowl today, tomorrow and forever.”
