OSLO, Norway (June 2019) — Trust is a vital element when it comes to outdoor adventure. Trust in your gear, your partners and your knowledge of terrain and weather conditions make the difference between an epic or bad experience in the outdoors. Helly Hansen brings to life the bond of trust between its brand, its products and the professionals who use it through new spring and summer collections that enable better performance using new fabrications and design technologies oriented for all mountain and ocean pursuits.
Taking inspiration from one of the world’s top sailing teams and challenger for the 36th America’s Cup, American Magic, Helly Hansen introduces a new highly innovative and technical collection of racing apparel built for on-water activities where moving fast and uncompromising protection are key.
Time spent with volunteer search-and-rescue team Norsk Folkehjelp of Norway resulted in one of Helly Hansen’s latest developments in shell materials for the Mountain category, balancing weight with durability in a new 3D backing to ensure breathability and comfort when out exploring the highest peaks in spring and summer months.
The professionals of the mountains and seas know all too well the negative effects of sun exposure, leading Helly Hansen to use its most effective moisture managing technology, Lifa®, to find the best solution for sun protection that will never wash out or decrease in UPF value.
The Urban category celebrates Helly Hansen’s years of experience creating high-performance workwear, and honors the long-standing relationship and presence in Japan through rainwear and sportswear built to withstand the elements in urban settings.

American Magic put its trust in Helly Hansen to create the highest-performing sail racing apparel the industry has ever seen to ensure their team is mobile and protected during the upcoming qualifying events. Mountain Using insights from the professionals of the Norsk Folkehjelp of Norway and theories from Dr. Danny Longman, an evolutionary biologist at Cambridge University, Helly Hansen introduces the Odin 3D Air Shell Jacket for men and women. A waterproof, windproof and breathable 2.75L shell jacket incorporating a new 3D printed backing, resulting in a jacket as light as a 2.5L jacket, but as durable and protective as a 3L jacket. The jackets are ergonomically designed with focus on male and female cool and hot spots to provide maximum airflow around the body and optimum temperature control.
Outdoor adventurers worried about sun exposure can rest easy due to Helly Hansen’s new Solen sun protection collection of tops and shorts. The basis of each top is LIFA® Active, a high-performance proprietary fabric that keeps skin dry in any condition due to its inherent hydrophobic properties and moisture moving construction. By infusing S.Café recycled coffee grounds into the fabric fibers, the Solen tops offer 50+ UPF protection that will never wash out, will help control odor and will maintain its UPF value when dry or wet. Match any Solen top with the Solen Watershorts for men and women for the same 50+ UPF protection and all of S.Café’s benefits in a 2-way stretch, quick-dry design.
