IPSC Shotgun World Championships 4th Place Individual and 2nd Place Team!

Last week I competed in the IPSC Shotgun World Championships. It was a week long competition that consists of practical shooting style shotgun stages. I was on the USPSA National Team shooting Ladies Open class. I finished 4th place in the Ladies Open with 2 Russians and an Italian finishing ahead of me. We were also able to take 2nd place for the Open Ladies team behind the Russians. My team consisted of Claudia Vidanes (12th place), Heather Miller (14th Place), Sky Killian (unfortunately she had a DQ) and myself (4th Place). I also made the shoot out on the final day, but was eliminated in the first round by one of the Russians. I did however win the Ladies Beretta Side match at the competition, it was great practice for the main match! Overall I was very happy with the match and my shooting with only having my gun for 2 weeks before I left for Europe. My shotgun and equipment ran flawlessly during the match. For the competition I used a box fed shotgun from Dissident Arms with a Trijicon RMR and am using Fiocchi Ammunition, Briley Chokes, a Hogue belt and 5.11 pants, Smith Elite Hudson Ballistic Lenses, Lowa Phoenix shoes, and Custom Hearing protection from Fluxx Audio.

Visit to the Fiocchi Factory in Lecco, Italy
Last week Dianne Muller (3-gunner and member of the IPSC USA Shotgun World Championship Team with me) visited the Fiocchi Factory in Lecco, Italy. We spent a few days touring the factory and filming an episode of Shooting Gallery with Michael Bane from the Outdoor Channel which will air next year.

It was one of the most impressive factories I have ever seen. Established in 1876, the factory survived bombings in World War ll and housed over 3,000 of its workers and local residents in a handmade cave that it uses to store its powders during the war. they also produce anything from .22 to shotgun to 50 cal and everything in between. They have definitely figured out how to make the best ammo in the world in over 130 years of doing business.

Product Spotlight- Trijicon RMR Red Dot Sight-
I just finished putting my Trijicon RMR through the ringer and am proud to say I din’t have to make a single adjustment to the sight. Not only did I, in less than a month, put over 5,000 rounds of one of the hardest hitting recoils in firearms; I threw it in barrels, put it through international travel and accidentally dropped it right on the sight when cleaning it (big oops!) and the red dot stayed true. When many of the people I was competing with had catastrophic failure with their dot going dark in the middle of the competition or the sight wiggling loose after 100 rounds, I was happy to say that my sight did what they said it was going to do- it work! Product Spotlight-
UnderTech UnderCover Executive Tank

One of the things I don’t leave home with out regardless of where in the world I travel is my UnderTech UnderCover Conceal Carry Executive Tank Top. It is what I use to conceal carry and also what I use to carry my passport, credit cards, money and other valuables when overseas! One side fits my conceal carry gun perfectly and the other side is perfect for keeping my passport and other valuables safe when in big crowds and in Europe. During my trip in Italy, France and Switzerland, I wore my UTUC Executive Tank almost every day. It game me the peace of mind that if my purse of backpack was stolen, I still had my passport and credit cards safe and on me. Check out the Executive Tank and their other great products at www.undertechundercover.com!

Up Next…
Next week I will head to DC with women from all over the World for the DC Project. The D.C. Project is a nonpartisan initiative to encourage women to establish relationships with their legislators, and reveal the faces and stories of firearms owners and 2nd Amendment supporters.
