VS1660T fills a niche in a hot market
FLIPPIN, Ark. (July 29, 2019) – Ranger’s aluminum Deep V models have enjoyed growth paralleling their success, and for 2020 the lineup is growing again. The newest addition is a 16′ tiller-steered model with a host of features that make it stand out among comparable boats. At the heart of the VS1660T is Ranger’s proven VS1660 hull, but without a console, opening up the cockpit.
“We wanted to bring a tiller-steered option to the 1660 hull for those who want an enlarged cockpit and the simplicity it brings,” says Josh Bradford, Ranger Aluminum production manager. “We feel that the feature package, price and Ranger quality built in to this model will be a home run for many markets – and anglers.”
As a small tiller-steered model, the VS1660T is an affordable option for those with limited towing and stowing options, or those who need the versatility tillers bring. Its wide-open cockpit delivers space for trolling while front and rear decks make ample platforms for casting and jigging. Three custom-matched seats are included and can be arranged in multiple configurations for the conditions – or crew – at hand.
Within the hull lies an impressive array of storage options, notably a large forward compartment with two accesses, twin lockable 8′ 6″ rod boxes, a large livewell and battery and fuel storage under the rear deck. Within easy reach of the captain is a custom-built gauge pod that houses a tachometer, twin USB charging ports, a 12V outlet, keyed ignition and rocker switching. Atop the fiberglass pod rides electronics up to 7″. At the driver’s foot are foot-activate trim buttons for easy manipulation while underway.
A 40HP rating gives the VS1660T economical spunk, while pop-up tie cleats, non-skid flooring and premium marine-grade carpeting deliver handsome functionality. An all-new Fusion Electra Blue option offers anglers yet another way to tailor the VS1660T to their liking.
The VS1660T is built using the same materials and methods as all aluminum boats that come from Ranger’s Flippin, Arkansas, plant and each comes with a custom-built Ranger Trail® trailer standard.
