NRA Announces Range Development & Operations Conference in Dallas

Fairfax, Va. – The National Rifle Association is now accepting registration for the 2019 Range Development & Operations Conference at the Dallas Doubletree beginning on October 5th. The three-day conference provides current and prospective shooting range owners with expert advice on range design, construction, operation, and management.

“There are an incredible number of issues that most people never consider when it comes to building and operating a shooting range,” said Eric Whitescarver, NRA Range Technical Team Leader. “This conference teaches our attendees everything the NRA knows about shooting ranges.”

Attendees will learn how to identify and avoid common mistakes associated with range engineering, administrative controls, environmental issues, and safety. Topics will include:

  • Creating a business plan
  • Zoning boards
  • Complying with EPA and OSHA standards
  • Construction and maintenance costs
  • Insurance requirements
  • NRA Programs and grants
  • Range safety standards
  • Law Enforcement
  • Master planning

Registration for the conference is $500 for NRA Affiliated Clubs and Business Alliance Members and $575.00 for non-members. This fee includes all conference materials and a digital copy of the NRA Range Source Book.

“Not only will people learn the latest on safety, operational, and environmental issues, but they will learn how to avoid wasting time and money on problems they can easily avoid,” concluded Whitescarver.
