Plano Adds To Its Stable Of Professional Saltwater Anglers

Grand Prairie, TX (September 26, 2019) Plano has added some of the top saltwater anglers on the planet to its impressive assembly of pro-staffers.

Captain Tim Martin cut his teeth plying the gulf waters from Corpus Christi Bay to Lake Pontchartrain to Tampa Bay. Armed with years of knowledge, Captain Tim now runs Martin Family Charters from his base in Orlando, FL. The Central Florida location allows Martin to target a variety of waters, fresh and salt, from Tampa Bay to the Butler Chain of Lakes to Port Canaveral. Martin loves to fish with vacationing families looking to enjoy a day on the water. In addition, Captain Tim is quick to lend a hand and voice to non-profit fishing initiatives in the region.

“I’m a huge fan of the 30-Quart Frabill Magnum Bait Station,” said Captain Tim Martin. “It allows me to keep live bait separated and alive. There are days when I may have shrimp, pinfish and mullet in the same Frabill Magnum Bait Station and the dividers really help. The fact that it has dual aerators to keep bait alive is key.” he said. “I’m proud to be associated with Plano Synergy. They’ve been a leader in the industry for decades and to be on their pro staff is an honor.” Learn more by contacting Tim at

Choosing to become a doctor or run a charter boat would seem to be a difficult choice. It wasn’t for the Gale twins. Fishing won out for Emily and Amanda Gale. After completing their pre-med schooling at the University of Miami, they decided to pursue their passion for fishing. Working as first mates during their summer breaks out of Key West, they accumulated the necessary skills and hours to get their captain’s licenses. Encouraged by their parents and strong family ties, the Gale twins saw a niche for family-focused fishing adventures and started Gale Force Fishing. Gale Force Fishing is based out of Hillsboro Inlet with access to the myriad of fishing variety South Florida offers. When not guiding clients, Emily and Amanda chase billfish in faraway destinations in Costa Rica, Hawaii and the Bahamas to expand their knowledge and expertise. You can learn more about these passionate anglers on their Youtube channel at Gale Force Twins and

“We love the Frabill Power Stow Landing Net,” said Amanda Gale. “We are big proponents of catch and release and it makes it easy to net fish like maui maui rather than gaffing them.” “We are so excited about our new relationship with Plano,” said Emily Gale. “To be partnered with a great company that makes great products and shares the same values we do is special. How Plano presents themselves to anglers and the public is the same way we feel about ourselves.”

Panama means “an abundance of fish” in the indigenous language. Captain Juan Andres Spragge of Tucan Lodge Panama can attest to the moniker. Spragge guides visiting anglers to big catches of roosterfish and cubera snapper in the near shore waters and 500-lb black marlin and yellowfin in the offshore blue water. Born in Cartagena, Colombia, Spragge’s family moved to Panama when he was ten years old, and he spent his early years fishing with his Dad. Eventually, he began working as a first mate at Isla Secas and in 2013 started Tucan Lodge Panama in Isla Boca Chica. Spragge’s biggest goal in life now is making sure clients leave Panama with a memorable experience and a big smile on their face. Learn more at

After first being introduced Juan from another of our pro anglers Journey South Outfitters in Venice, Louisiana, Plano welcomed Captain Juan Andres Spragge with his wealth of saltwater fishing experience and knowledge to the team. Plano shares Captain Juan’s goal of providing customers an unparalleled experience and customer service.

As a Charleston, South Carolina native, a combination of blood and saltwater likely runs through Captain Ben Powers’ veins. Powers discovered early on a passion that made winding creeks and estuary ecosystems an easy choice over a suit and tie. Powers runs Reel Time Charters out of Charleston Harbor and offers inshore, nearshore and offshore adventures for the plethora of species found there, as wells as scenic boat tours of the historic Morris Island Lighthouse and other attractions. Powers’ intimate knowledge of the local waters and his drive to succeed ensures clients of a quality experience. Read more on his website,

“Plano’s new Rustrictor Stowaway boxes and Waterproof boxes have been a godsend for me,” shared Powers. “The Rustrictor Stowaways have saved me a lot of money in terminal tackle and lures already. Plano’s Waterproof Stowaway boxes with the gaskets are superior if you’re going to be fishing anywhere on saltwater.

Powers said his relationship with Plano is a two-way street. “With Plano’s unprecedented access to products and technology and to be recognized with folks who are striving for the same things I am, like sustainability and opportunity, makes the relationship special.”

The Plano family is thrilled and pleased to add these skilled, consummate anglers to their cadre of professional fishermen.

PLANO FISHING IS PROUD TO BE THE GO-TO FOR OUTDOOR STORAGE SOLUTIONS WITH MORE THAN 65 YEARS OF HISTORY TO BACK IT UP. Since 1952, when Warren “Pete” Henning returned from a Florida fishing trip with the desire to improve the tackle box, Plano has become the standard in modern tackle boxes and storage solutions. Over the next 65 years, the Plano brand has found its way into the hearts and hands of four generations. Today, there’s a four in five chance that if you own a tackle box, it was made by Plano. There are many reasons consumers faithfully choose Plano, including quality, durability and innovation, but our favorite is, “It’s what my dad always used.” We take care of you by taking care of your gear.
