The totals were pulled from 626 registered shooters that participated in Wisconsin Precision Rifle Steel Challenge (WPRSC) events during the 2019 match season. MPA barrels were also named the seventh most popular rifle barrels used among local PRS competitors.
Comer, Ga. (December 2019) – MasterPiece Arms (MPA), manufacturers of the MPA BA Rifles and Chassis Systems, was recently surveyed to be the most popular chassis/stock system in the Wisconsin PRS market, as compiled in Precision Rifle Component’s “What the Joes Use: Top Stocks and Chassis Used by Local PRS Competitors in 2019.” The MPA chassis is used by approximately 21 percent of the WPRSC competitors. MPA barrels were also surveyed to be the seventh most popular rifle barrel used by Wisconsin PRS competitors.
“Whether it’s a Pro or a Joe who uses our products, we want every single person that chooses to use our chassis systems in competition to receive the same accuracy, power, and reliability that our chassis can provide. We love hearing from competitors across the nation and learning more about what they trust during competition. We are honored to have been named the most popular chassis used by the WPRSC competitors,” commented Phil Cashin, MPA President.
The MPA BA Competition Chassis is the competition version of MPA’s highly successful MPA BA Chassis System. It has been named the number one chassis in the PRS every year since 2016. It is designed to give shooters a competitive advantage when shooting in long-range tactical rifle competitions, such as the PRS. In addition to the standard chassis features, it has been enhanced with the Spigot Mount V4 Design that attaches to the front of the forend to give the shooter additional space to mount their bipod and the Ultra Bag Rider attachment for better rear bag recoil management. MSRP ranges from $999 – $1,150.
MPA purchased Spencer Rifle Barrels in June of 2013, which allows for the in-house capability required to produce world-class rifle barrels. In addition to the equipment needed to produce the barrels, Clay Spencer’s methods and practices are followed to the letter at MPA. Spencer’s methods were developed over 30 plus years of painstaking effort with the goal of producing the best barrels possible, delivering long life and extreme accuracy. No short cuts are ever taken. The process is slow, exacting and very specific with impressive results. Spencer Rifle Barrels have set over 43 world records and won 75 plus major matches and National Championships. These MPA barrels can be purchased finished and installed on MPA rifles or acquired separately as a contoured barrel blank.
Precision Rifle Components and Wisconsin Precision Rifle Steel Challenge (WPRSC) partnered to share usage data, pulled from 626 registered shooters that participated in WPRSC events during the 2019 match season. The goal of the “What the Joes Use” survey was to focus on what the average local PRS competitor uses. More information on how the data was compiled can be found in the “What the Joes Use: What Equipment are Local PRS Competitors Using in 2019?” article.
