London gunmaker John Rigby & Co. has partnered with British-based Spartan Precision Equipment to develop a new lightweight bipod for their hunting rifles.
Machined from highly durable aluminium alloy, the extremely robust but lightweight support system weighs only 178gr (6.28oz) with its magnet adapter fitted and offers a ground to stock height of 17-24cm (6.5-9.5in) or just 20cm (8in) when folded in your pocket.
Its built-in cant and rotation permits hunters the ability to follow live moving targets, while the intelligent Spartan-patented system ensures it can be quickly attached or removed, using powerful magnetic adapters. Depending on the environment where the bipod will be used, hunters can opt to use either it’s rubber or tungsten carbide feet.
Completing the look, inlaid in brass onto the main body is Rigby’s iconic ‘double R’ logo, while its legs and feet are covered in beautiful hand-stitched leather and supplied with a matching leather sheath, by South African fine leather craftsmen, Els & Co.
Marc Newton, the managing director of Rigby, commented: “After six months of working with fellow British company Spartan, we are delighted to unveil the new Rigby bipod. For me, it was important to develop a high-class product that didn’t have a detrimental effect on the aesthetics of our rifles, which I believe we have achieved in this design. The bipod has been carefully developed to ensure it is extremely lightweight as well as magnetic to ensure swift removal and fixing.”
This unique bipod can be supplied individually or fitted to any rifle by Rigby’s in-house craftsmen.
