Sako Announces the Sako Great Hunt Series with Remi Warren

New Endeavor Pairs Global Hunter and Personality with World-Class Sako 85 Rifle Platform

(Accokeek, MD) April 25, 2019 – Sako, the world-renowned Finland-based manufacturer of high-quality rifles has announced a new partnership with global hunter and professional guide Remi Warren, designed to put Sako rifles to the test in some of the world’s most iconic and unforgiving hunting environments as part of a video series called the Sako Great Hunt Series with Remi Warren.

Sako rifles are built with demanding design criteria based on tradition, innovation and high-quality craftsmanship with unmatched attention to detail. The Finnish brand demands perfection and has set out to prove it by partnering with Warren in an around-the-world hunting tour featuring Sako 85 rifles Warren specifically built using the new Sako 85 Selector – a function on the Sako.fi website that allows for the selection of various components in order to construct a rifle to personal taste. Each hunt will be turned into a film that will debut on both Warren’s and Sako’s social channels to create an ongoing series of world-class hunting content.

Remi Warren is an accomplished hunter and adventurer that has been challenged by everything mother nature can put in his path. His relentless pursuit for wild game in remote places has earned him the respect of the hunting community and positioned him as a leading expert in backcountry hunting, filming and the harvest, preparation and cooking of wild game.

“Our new Sako 85 Selector allows hunters to essentially build their own hunting rifle based on their style of hunting and personal needs,” said, Claes Bjorksten, Marketing and Communications Director for Sako. “The Sako Great Hunt Series with Remi Warren is an opportunity to showcase a number of Sako 85 rifles in different calibers and models, proving that for those who demand perfection from their rifle, Sako provides a rifle for virtually every hunter and their own applications.”

Remi began his adventure with Sako with a trip to the Sako factory in Riihimaki, Finland in early 2019. While there, Remi had a hand in building the very rifles he will use on his hunts across the globe.

“I’m honored and excited to be working alongside Sako on this project. After being involved in the build of these rifles it is clear why Sako has such a history of performance and dependability,” said Warren. “I look forward to putting them through the paces as part of the Great Hunt Series and showing hunters around the world why they should start their search for their next rifle with the Sako 85 Selector.”

The three guns and calibers were chosen specifically for the hunts with the first kicking off in Australia for buffalo. The Sako 85 Brown Bear in .375 H&H was Remi’s choice for this exciting hunt for large dangerous game.

“Hunting dangerous game requires a firearm that is dependable and accurate,” said Warren. “The Sako 85 Brown Bear has a proven track record as one of the world’s most reliable big game rifles and I look forward to sharing the story of this adventure with hunters around the world.”

The Great Hunt Series was officially announced at the 2019 NRA Annual Meetings in Indianapolis. Consumers can follow along with @remiwarren, @sako_international and #SakoGHS on Facebook and Instagram to stay informed on the latest updates and to watch videos from Remi’s hunts. The next hunt will be announced immediately following Remi’s Australia hunt in summer 2019. Sako will be giving away a rifle around each hunt of the Great Hunt Series via Sako and Remi Warren’s social channels. One lucky follower will win the same rifle used by Remi on his hunt.

Sako 85 Selector
The Sako 85 Selector is an application that resides on the Sako website and can be used to help you choose the rifle best suited to your hunting or shooting needs by allowing direct comparison and selection of a range of calibers, sights and other specifications as applicable to the selected model.
