The Big Rock, Big Hero Experience shares the ultimate offshore fishing opportunity with active-duty military members stationed in North Carolina. Participants will spend the day aboard a first-class sportfishing boat amongst Big Rock’s most elite anglers, will be outfitted in Salt Life apparel and featured at the weigh station.

About Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament:
The Big Rock began in 1957 as the Fabulous Fisherman’s Club when local businessmen requested the charter fleet seek blue marlin off the coast of Morehead City. On September 14, 1957, Captain Bill Olsen aboard the Mary Z and his angler Jimmy Croy brought the first blue marlin to the docks weighing a mere 143.5 pounds.  This historical catch won a prize of 250 silver dollars.

Today, the Big Rock is a world-class fishing tournament located on the beautiful Crystal Coast in Morehead City, North Carolina.  The June event is a modified release tournament which includes prizes for gamefish. The 2018 total purse was $2,560,925 and hosted 183 boats. The exciting week includes The Big Rock Keli Wagner Lady Angler Tournament and Junior Angler prizes.

The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament is a non-profit tournament dedicated to funding charities and worthy organizations within its community. To date, the Big Rock has donated over $5 million dollars to charity.
