ASHLAND, Ore. (January 7, 2020) — Work Sharp Outdoor, the leading manufacturer of knife and tool sharpeners, is helping blade owners gain more efficiencies than ever before with the new Ken Onion Benchtop Angle Set Knife Sharpener.
Work Sharp collaborated with renowned knife maker Ken Onion to design the new Angle Set Sharpener, which features Work Sharp’s unique tri-brasive technology. Two, three-sided sharpening rods offer three grits — coarse diamond, fine diamond, and fine ceramic stone — in a triangle formation. Magnetic angle sets secure each rod, ensuring a consistent angle with each pass. Designed to rotate 360 degrees, the tri-brasive rods reduce adjustment time between sharpening stages.
“The object is to hold your knife in a vertical position all the time,” said Steve Baker, Work Sharp product designer. “We adjust the machine around you so you always do the same thing.”
Sharpening angles can be set to 15, 17.5, 20, 22.5 or 25 degrees. With an additional ceramic rod, the Angle Set Sharpener is a comprehensive manual solution for those who want to sharpen their knives with configurable angles and abrasives.
“Our customer is the focus of each and every Work Sharp design” said Kyle Crawford, Work Sharp Brand Manager. “We make it our goal to anticipate their needs and provide the tools that enable them to better sharpen their blades. That’s why the angle sets work around you and your most comfortable position. We’re adapting the sharpener to the blade owner, and not the other way around.”
